Topic : How You Choose Restaurants 음식점 고르는 법

❝STEP 1

음식점을 어떻게 선택하는지 이야기해 주세요.

어느 음식점에 갈지 고를 때, 나는 음식의 맛을 가장 우선적으로 생각한다. 맛있는 음식을 제공하는 음식점에서 식사하는 것이 좋다. 또한 음식점의 분위기도 고려한다. 분위기로 인해 식사를 더 즐길 수 있기 때문이다. 물론 음식 가격도 생각하지 않을 수 없다. 외식을 할 때 비교적 저렴하게 먹는 것을 좋아한다. 음식 가격이 너무 비싸면 음식점에 자주 가기가 힘들다.

 

❝Talk about how you choose restaurants.

When I choose which restaurant I want to go to, I think about taste above everything else. I like to dine at restaurants that serve tasty food. I also take into account the mood of a restaurants. The atmosphere helps me enjoy the meal. Of course, I also have to think about the bill. I like to get good deals when I go out to eat. I cannot go to a restaurant too often if it is too pricey.

음식 가격이 너무 비싸면 음식점에 자주 가기가 힘들다.

▪I really like this jacket, but it's too pricey.

이 재킷이 정말 마음에 드는데, 가격이 너무 비싸.

▪It's bit pricey, but it will last a long time.

조금 비싼 편이긴 하지만, 아주 오래 쓸 수 있을 거야

최근에 방문한 외국 음식 전문점에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

나는 최근에 친구들과 모임을 가졌다. 베트남 음식점에 갔는데, 쌀국수를 정말 잘하는 맛집이었다. 국수의 육수가 정말 맛있었고, 국수 안에든 고기도 정말 입에서 살살 녹을 정도로 연했다. 특히 배가 몹시 고픈 상태로 먹어서 더욱 맛있었다. 우리는 나눠 먹을 사이드 메뉴도 주문했다. 음식이 너무 마음에 들어서 다음에 또 가기를 기대한다.

 

❝Talk about a foreign restaurant you went to recently.

My friends and I had a get-together recently. We went to a Vietnamese place, and they had the best pho in town. The meat broth for the noodles was really tasty. The beef in the noodles was also juicy and tender. The food tasted extra good especially because I was starving. We also ordered some side dishes for the table. I look forward to going there again because the food was to my liking.

3. be to someone's liking ~의 취향에 맞다.

▪The food was to my liking.

음식이 마음에 쏙 들었다.

▪The resort wasn't to my liking, but my kids loved it.

리조트가 내 취향은 아니었지만, 아이들은 정말 좋아했어.

▪I waited until the temperature was to my liking.

온도가 내 기호에 맞게 식을 때까지 기다렸다.

❝It was just so-so.

그냥 괜찮은 정도였어.

 

A : Did you go to that new sandwich place yesterday? How was it?

B : To be honest, it was just so-so. There are other places I like more.

A : Really? That's disappointing. The online reviews were great.

B : I know. I think people are just excited because it's a new place.

 

A : 어제 새로 연 그 샌드위치 가게 가 봤어? 어땠어?

B : 솔직히 그냥 괜찮은 정도였어. 다른 데가 더 나아.

A : 진짜? 실망이네. 인터넷 후기들은 굉장히 긍정적이던데.

B : 그러게 말이야. 그냥 새로 문을 연 곳이어서 사람들이 흥분한 것 같아.
