밑줄 친 부분이 지나치게 의역이 되어 있어서... 제가 좀 수정을 해놓았습니다. 영어와 대조해 보면 좀 지나치게 자연스럽게 하려다가 의도가 제대로 전달이 안된 것 같습니다.

 

❝STEP 1

한국의 영화관들에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

한국에는 영화관이 정말 많다. 요즘은 거의 모든 곳에 영화관이 있다. 그 이유는 한국인들이 영화 보러 가는 것을 유난히 좋아하기 때문이다. 영화관에 가는 것은 매우 보편적인 문화생활의 일환이다. 대부분의 영화관들은 유동 인구가 많은 번화가에 있다. 한국에는 세 곳의 대형 극장 체인이 있다. 이들 영화관들은 시설도 좋고 규모가 크다. 좌석도 편하고 앞뒤 간격도 넓다. 연인을 위한 특별한 좌석들도 있다.

❝Talk about movie theaters in Korea.

There are tons of movie theaters in Korea. They are all over the place these days. That's because Koreans really like to go to the movies. It is a very popular form of entertainment. Most movie theaters are in downtown areas with a lot of foot traffic. There are three major theater chains in Korea. They have great facilities and are very large in size. They have comfy seats with a lot of leg room and special seats for couples.

좌석도 편하고 앞뒤 간격도 넓다.

비행기 좌석의 다리 뻗는 공간이 좀 더 넉넉하면 좋겠어.

❝STEP 2

영화표를 어떻게 구하는지 이야기해 주세요. 영화표는 영화관 현장에 가면 매표소에서 구매할 수 있다. 사람들이 이런식으로 (현장 구매하는 방식) 티켓을 살 때는, 보통 즉흥적으로 영화를 보는 경우이다. 또는, 피크 타임이 아니라서 미리 예매를 할 필요가 없을 때이다. 대부분의 사람들은 영화관 앱을 이용해서 사전에 예매를 한다. 그렇게 하면 매우 손쉽게 표를 구매할 수 있다. 앉고 싶은 좌석을 미리 지정할 수도 있다. 극장에 가서도 핸드폰으로 예매 내역을 보여 주고 입장하면 된다.

❝Talk about how you get tickets for movies.

Movie tickets can be bought at the box office, on site at the theater. When people buy tickets in this fashion, they are usually watching a movie on a whim. Otherwise, it's not a peak time, so there's no need to reserve in advance. Most people do get tickets in advance using theater apps. This makes it a breeze to buy tickets. Users can also get dibs on the seats that they want. At the theater, you can enter by showing them your reservation details on your phone.

그렇지 않으면 관객이 별로 없는 시간대인 경우다.

붐비는 시간대에는 커피를 받으려면 오래 기다려야 할 거야.

▪I never visit that place at peak times.

붐비는 시간에는 절대 그곳에 가지 않아.

3. get dibs on ~을 선점하다

▪Users can also get dibs on the seats that they want.

앉고 싶은 좌석을 미리 지정할 수도 있다.

마지막 남은 피자 조각을 먹고 싶었는데, 누나가 먼저 차지했다.

A : It's a must-see! And you should definitely see it in a theater.

B : Okay, I'll reserve tickets to see it this week. Do you want to come with me?

A : 얘, 너 새로 나온 <리벤져스> 영화 봤니? 난 지난 주말에 봤는데.

B : 아니, 아직 시간이 없어서 못 봤어. 보고 싶기는 해. 재미있어?
